"이 세상에 고정된 것이 있을까?" 

미하 작가는 '생각은 액체처럼 흐른다.'는 명제를 제시한다. 생각은 고정되지 않은 채 끊임없이 변하며, 하나의 상태로 머무르지 않는다. 현재의 사물은 선형적 시간 안에서 유동하던 사고가 일시적으로 물질화된 찰나의 기록이며, 완결의 상태가 아니다. 감정, 관계, 심지어 '나'라고 인식하는 자아 또한 고정값으로 존재할 수 없는 것과 마찬가지로, 변하지 않는 본질은 없으며 모든 것은 조건과 관계에 따라 매 순간 다른 양상으로 형성되고 사라진다.

작가는 이러한 형이상학적 사유를 액체의 물성을 빌려 구체화한다. 캔버스 속 헤드폰, 운동화, 조명과 의자 등 익숙한 현대의 기능적 오브제들은 곧 쏟아져 내릴 것만 같은 투명한 액체 형태다. 정지된 사물에서 포착된 이미지들은 형태의 유지와 변형의 중간 상태로서 유동적 사고의 성질을 시각화하며, 관습적 인식의 확장을 유도한다.

작품 표면을 유영하는 투명한 문장들은 빛과 시선의 간섭에 따라 다르게 발현된다. '액체 그래피티(Water Graffiti)'라 명명한 직관적 문장들에는 동시대의 감각과 태도가 응축되어 있다. 이 언어적 장치는 사물에 담긴 사회적 은유와 일상의 해학을 시각화한다. 보는 이에게 위트를 건네며 작품과 감상자 사이 능동적이고 유연한 상호작용을 이끈다.

이번 전시 《Moments in Flow》는 오랜 시간 산업디자인의 다양한 분야에서 연구를 이어온 작가가, 사물의 개념을 깊게 탐구하며 도출한 철학적 사유다. '기능'과 '형태'로 정의되던 사물은 작가가 구축한 프레임 안에서 고정된 의미를 벗고, 흐름 속에서 포착된 단 하나의 존재론적 순간으로 빛난다.

“Is there anything in this world that remains fixed?”

Mee Ha proposes that “thought flows like liquid.” Thought, unfixed and in constant transformation, never settles into a single state. The objects we encounter are traces of fluid thinking, momentarily materialized within linear time—not a state of completion. Just as emotions, relationships, and even the “self” cannot exist as fixed constants, there is no immutable essence; everything takes shape differently at each moment, shaped by conditions and relationships.

The artist translates this metaphysical contemplation into visual form through the materiality of liquid. Familiar, functional objects of the modern era—headphones, sneakers, lighting, and chairs—appear on canvas as transparent, fluid forms on the verge of spilling over. These images, drawn from stationary objects, visualize fluid thought as an intermediate state between persistence and transformation, prompting an expansion of conventional perception.

Transparent sentences drifting across the surface of the works appear differently depending on light and the viewer’s perspective. These intuitive phrases, termed “Water Graffiti,” encapsulate contemporary sensibilities and attitudes. This linguistic device renders visible the social metaphors and everyday humor embedded within objects. Offering a sense of wit, the artist invites an active and flexible interaction between the artwork and its audience.

The exhibition Moments in Flow presents a philosophical inquiry that emerged from the artist’s long-standing research across various fields of industrial design. Objects once defined by “function” and “form” shed their fixed meanings within the artist’s framework, appearing instead as singular ontological moments captured within the flow.
