《작은 친구들의 모험》은 호기롭게 길을 떠나는 어린아이 ‘샤인’과 ‘오로라’, 그리고 작은 동물 친구들의 여정을 담은 이야기다. 등장인물의 이름은 작가가 전하고자 하는 감정에서 파생된 언어로, 각 인물은 감정의 성질과 성장을 상징하는 역할을 한다. 이들은 함께 모험을 이어가며 때로는 다투고, 때로는 도우며 관계를 맺어가고, 그 과정을 통해 삶의 이야기와 감정의 흐름을 풀어낸다.

작품 속 어린아이와 동물은 새롭고 신기한 것을 향한 호기심과 순수성의 상징으로 등장한다. 다양한 탐험가 복장의 인물들은 어디론가 향하거나 무언가를 바라보는 동작 속에 설렘을 품고 있으며, 단순한 선과 형태로 표현된 눈과 눈썹은 유쾌하고 명료한 표정을 완성한다. 이러한 시각 언어는 관람자로 하여금 인물의 감정과 움직임을 직관적으로 받아들이게 한다.

이 모험 속 이야기들이 어린아이처럼 순진무구하게, 그러나 용기 있게 앞으로 나아가기를 바라는 우리의 마음과 닿아 있기를 바란다.

작품 속 아이가 나아가는 그 길 위에 함께 발을 내딛어보는 건 어떨까.

“My Little Friends’ Adventure” is a story about a brave journey taken by two children, Shine and Aurora, along with their small animal companions. Each character’s name is derived from an emotion the artist wishes to convey, symbolizing the qualities and growth of those emotions. As they embark on this journey, they argue, support one another, form bonds, and in doing so, unfold a narrative of life and emotional flow.

The children and animals in the story symbolize curiosity and innocence—a pure desire to explore the new and unknown. Dressed in a variety of explorer outfits, the characters gaze into the distance or move forward, filled with excitement. Their expressive eyes and brows, drawn with simple lines and shapes, create clear, cheerful expressions that allow viewers to intuitively grasp their emotions and actions.

Through this adventure, the artist metaphorically portrays the fears, excitement, trust, and friendships we experience throughout life. The journey of the child becomes a reflection of the artist’s own inward exploration—a form of courage blossomed from the past. These characters, who build relationships and grow through their travels, mirror our own lives.

Artist Yujeong Song delivers a heartfelt message through this tale:

“Each of us holds a small but incredible power—it’s the courage to take just one step forward.”

This message is a warm encouragement to children, a personal affirmation for the artist, and an earnest charm for all of us encountering the exhibition. At the heart of the My Little Friend series lies positivity, hope, and a small but steadfast courage. The moment the characters take a step forward, they are already embarking on change and growth.
