판교 운중동에 문을 연 헤드비갤러리(대표 신혜승)는 전면 유리로 된 화이트 큐브의 개방적인 전시공간으로 판교 지역 주민의 생기 있는 삶과 행복의 영위를 위하여 다양한 예술 작품을 알리고자 합니다. 신인 작가부터 활발히 작품활동을 이어가는 작가까지 헤드비갤러리의 전시는 넓은 포용성을 지향합니다. 사방이 트인 유리창 구조는 갤러리의 담을 낮춰 관객의 진입을 수월하게 하며 5m에 달하는 높은 천고는 대형 평면회화부터 차원의 작품까지 전시할 수 있습니다.

테크노밸리와 최첨단 연구 시설, 기업이 위치한 판교는 미래 지향적 도시 성격에 맞게 친환경 저밀도 신시가지로 구성되었습니다. 인간과 자연, 기술이 조화를 이루었으나 아직 한 가지 아쉬운 점이 있다면 바로 삶과 예술의 ‘어울림’입니다. 물질적 풍요와 범람하는 정보 속에서 역설적으로 인간은 허무와 상실을 느끼기도 합니다. 4차 산업혁명의 현대를 살아가는 우리를 보다 인간답게 하는 것은 일상 속 예술이라는 생각으로 헤드비갤러리는 판교의 예술 부흥에 힘을 보태고자 합니다.

헤드비갤러리는 자연과 인간, 예술을 잇는 중심에 위치합니다. “운중천을 산책하는 길에 밖에서 보는 갤러리가 참 멋져서 들어왔어요.” 하는 관람객의 인사에는 헤드비갤러리의 장점이 함축되어 있습니다. 유리창 너머로 보이는 전시장 모습에 이끌려 방문하는 일이 빈번하다는 것은 갤러리로의 관객 진입이 그만큼 어렵지 않다는 뜻입니다. 이렇듯 양하고 폭넓은 전시로 관람객에게 편안히 다가가며 문화·예술을 널리 알리는 역할을 드비갤러리가 하려 합니다. 헤드비갤러리를 통해 지역과 예술이 공존하여 판교 지역 주민이 보다 요로운 일상을 보내도록 기여하겠습니다.

Hedwig Gallery(CEO Shin Hye-seung), an open exhibition space with wide window, is a space for the lively life and happiness of Pangyo local residents. Hedwig Gallery hosts exhibitions from new artists to artists who are actively working on their works in order to be broadly inclusive and to promote art market in Korea. The glass window structure that opens on all sides allows easier entry of spectators, and the high heavenly celling, let us display from large paintings to three-dimensional works.

Pangyo has the techno valley, where number of research facilities and businesses headquarters are located. Furthermore, the city is composed of an environment-friendly infrastructure and low-density town which suits the future-oriented urban city character. Here in Pangyo, human beings, nature and technology are in harmony, however, there is one potential point which can be improved to enhance Pangyo; harmony of life and art. in this generation where abundance of material and flood of information exist, paradoxically, humans may feel emptiness and loss in this type of world. Therefore, Hedwig Gallery wishes to focus on the promotion of art in Pangyo, thinking that everyday art is a motivation which make us live in the present era.

Hedwig Gallery is located in Unjung-dong, the center of heart in Pangyo where the connection between nature, humans and art is made. One spectator's greeting message, "I visited the gallery because I saw here while the walk," includes the benefits of this gallery. The view of the exhibition hall through glass windows, connects to frequent visits of people walking by. In other words, Hedwig Gallery is not too difficult for spectators to enter the gallery. We are trying to play a role in making the visitors feel comfortable and publicizing culture and art through such diverse and wide-ranging exhibitions. Through Hedwig Gallery, the area and art coexist and contribute to residents in Pangyo to lead a richer daily life.
