대학생 때부터 ‘아이러니’라는 닉네임을 쓰는 강수정 작가는 웹이나 소셜미디어의 알고리즘 속 일상에서 일어나는 상황에 영감을 얻으며 작가만의 상상력과 스토리를 더해 작업한다.

작가의 작품은 물감과 붓의 질감을 모나거나 날카롭지 않게 작업하며 의도적으로 익은 생각을 멀리하고 낯선 이미지로 나다움을 캔버스에 담아낸다. 우리의 일상 속 평범한 모습을 그림으로 나타내며, 그 안에 감성적인 이야기를 담아 공감을 불러일으킨다. 춤, 사랑, 운동, 여행 등 일상 속에서 일어나는 순간들을 풍부한 색감과 풍자적인 묘사로 그려내어 작품 속 인물들의 감정과 생각을 공감할 수 있도록 전한다. 화면 한컷 한컷에 스토리를 담아, 사람들에게 호기심을 불러일으킬만한 상황이나, ‘픽’하고 가벼운 웃음이 날 만한 상황을 표현하는 작업으로 일상속의 공감을 강조한다. 강수정 작가는 작품을 통해 사람들이 공감과 행복을 함께 느꼈으면 하는 마음으로 작업한다.

박종화 작가는 전달자로써 그림을 통해 세상 살아가는 이야기 속에 달콤함을 사람들에게 보여주려한다. 이는 나이가 들어가고 가족을 꾸려나가면서 웃을 일도 많지만 책임져아 할 일도 많아지면서 잃어가는 웃음을 되찾고 유쾌한 사람이 되려는 것이다. 에스키스 없이 영화 장면을 픽스하는 방식, 직관적으로 떠오르는 이미지나 화가들을 명화들에 조합하는 감각들이 섞이면서 스토리가 이어지는 박종화만의 세계관이다. 고흐와 친구 고갱 사이의 묘한 공간 사이에 다양한 스토리텔링들이 들어감으로써 생기는 뉘앙스는 작가가 명명한 언어유희이자 여백을 상징한다. 박종화 작가는 서로 다른 문화적 맥락을 작가의 현실과 매칭하는 타임 콜라주 방식으로 작업한다.

두 작가는 일상적인 이야기 속에 일어나는 순간들을 담아내어 각자가 가지는 의미를 전달하려 한다, 강수정 작가는 공감을, 박종화 작가는 유쾌함을 전달하려 한다. 이러한 작가들의 2인전, 헤드비갤러리에서 개최하는 ‘Constant moment’로 일상에서의 유쾌함과 공감을 가지는 시간을 가졌으면 한다.

Writer Kang Soo-jung, who has been nicknamed "Irony" since she was a college student, takes inspiration from everyday situations that occur in algorithms on the web or social media and adds her own imagination and story.

The artist's work intentionally works without gathering or sharpening the texture of paint and brush, keeping away from familiar thoughts, and capturing the personality on the canvas with unfamiliar images. It expresses the ordinary appearance of our daily lives through pictures, and creates empathy by putting emotional stories in them. It draws moments that occur in everyday life, such as dance, love, exercise, and travel, with rich colors and satirical descriptions so that people can sympathize with the emotions and thoughts of the characters in the work. By putting stories in each screen, it emphasizes empathy in everyday life by expressing situations that can arouse curiosity or situations that can cause people to "pick" and laugh lightly. Artist Kang Soo-jung works with the hope that people can feel empathy and happiness together through her work.

As a messenger, Park Jong-hwa tries to show people the sweetness in the story of living in the world through paintings. As he gets older and has a lot of things to laugh about while building a family, but he has a lot of things to take responsibility for, and he tries to regain the laughter he loses and become a pleasant person. This is Park Jong-hwa's world view, which connects the story by mixing the method of fixing movie scenes without Eskis and the senses of intuitively combining rising images or painters with masterpieces. The nuance created by the entry of various storytelling between Gogh and his friend Gauguin symbolizes the language play and margin named by the artist. Park Jong-hwa works in a time collage method that matches different cultural contexts with the artist's reality.

The two artists try to convey the meaning of each by capturing the moments that occur in their daily stories, while Kang Soo-jung tries to convey empathy and Park Jong-hwa tries to convey joy. I hope you will have a time to have joy and empathy in your daily life with the 'Constant Moment' held at Hedwig Gallery, a two-person exhibition of these writers.
