박성욱 작가는 분청 작업으로 공(空), 간(間)의 켜를 기억한다. 분청 기법 중에서 분장 기법으로 작업을 하는데 이 기법은 묽게 희석한 분장토에 기물을 담갔다가 꺼내는 덤벙 분청 기법으로 바탕 흙과의 밀착도를 염두에 두고 재료를 탐구하여 자연스럽게 흙물이 흘러내리면서 섞이게 하는 기법이다. 작가는 모든 감각을 열고 재료 수용의 과정을 거친다. 긴장감 있게 흙이라는 재료에 도전하고 잘 반죽된 흙을 도판으로 만들어 작은 조각으로 자르고 가마에서 불을 거친 조각들은 편(片)이 된다. 이번 헤드비갤러리에서의 전시는 작가의 25년 예술 세계를 서로 연결하며 변화와 연속성을 확인하여 박성욱 작가의 예술을 하나의 조형 세계로 온전히 바라보고자 한다.

아이들의 그림을 좋아하는 이금영 작가는 전통적인 민화와 자연을 동일시하며 작업의 근간을 다져간다. 그리는 이에게 자유로움을 허하고 취하는 이도 만족할 수 있었던 풍요로운 시대의 산물인 전통적인 민화에 심취되었고 자연의 꽃과 고양이를 소재로 다양한 작품을 만든다. 작가는 조선시대부터 형성된 분청사기의 기법 중에서 박지기법으로 작업을 하는데, 분청사기(粉靑沙器)의 태토(胎土)로 그릇을 빚은 다음 전체에 백토(白土)로 분장을 하고 긁어낸 뒤에 유약을 발라 문양을 나타내는 독특한 분청사기의 맛을 나타낸다. 이번 헤드비갤러리 전시에서 다양한 시도가 펼쳐진 흥미로운 작품으로 어린아이와 같은 자유로움을 가지고 싶은 작가의 마음을 면면히 살펴볼 수 있다.

Artist Park Sung-wook remembers turning on the ball and the liver (間) through his Buncheong work. Among the Buncheong techniques, he works with the makeup technique, which is the Dumbung Buncheong technique, in which a material is immersed in a diluted makeup soil and taken out, and naturally mixed with soil water as it flows down. The artist opens up all senses and goes through the process of accepting materials. He or she challenges the material called soil with tension, cuts the well-done soil into small pieces, and pieces that have been burned in the kiln become 片. This exhibition at the Hedwig Gallery aims to see Park Sung-wook's art as a formative world by connecting the artist's 25-year-old art world with each other and confirming change and continuity.

Lee Geum-young, who likes children's paintings, identifies traditional folk paintings with nature and lays the foundation of his work. He was fascinated by traditional folk paintings, which are products of a rich era in which the artist allowed the artist to be free and even the drunk could be satisfied, and he creates various works based on natural flowers and cats. The artist works with the Park Ji technique among the Buncheong pottery techniques that have been formed since the Joseon Dynasty, and after making a bowl with the 胎 of Buncheong 沙, he dressed up as white clay, scraped it, and glazed it to express the unique taste of Buncheong pottery. It is an interesting work of various attempts at this exhibition at the Hedwig Gallery, and you can fully explore the artist's desire to have the same freedom as a child.
