서로 다른 조형 언어와 감각이 하나의 전시 안에서 교차하며, 새로운 의미의 지평을 여는 전시 《통섭》은 예술이 가진 이질성과 다양성이 어떻게 조화를 이루며 또 다른 창의로 이어질 수 있는지를 탐색한다. 이번 전시는 재료와 주제, 형식과 감각 모두에서 각기 다른 궤도를 지닌 9인의 작가들이 한자리에 모여, 동시대 미술의 복합성과 다층성을 입체적으로 제시한다.

김덕한은 옻칠을 주재료로 하여, 반복과 중첩을 통해 쌓아올린 층위를 다시 벗겨내는 독창적인 방식으로 시간성과 존재의 흔적을 드러낸다.
김선우는 날지 못해 멸종된 도도새를 매개로, 불확실한 시대를 살아가는 인간의 본성과 가능성에 대해 질문을 던진다.
김순철은 바느질이라는 노동집약적 행위를 통해 축적된 시간의 응어리를 풀어내며, 평온함과 침잠의 감각을 화면에 담아낸다.
영재는 한지와 흑연, 먹의 모노톤 회화를 통해 과거, 현재, 미래가 교차하는 감정적 시공간을 구성하고, 서로 다른 시간 속 존재 간의 교감을 표현한다.
유선태는 꿈과 자연, 고전 명화와 일상 오브제가 뒤섞인 유희적 이미지로 예술적 상상력의 숲을 유영한다.
윤병락은 사과라는 일상적 대상에 개인의 서사와 고향의 감정을 담아, 사실주의 기법을 재해석한 정물의 깊이를 탐구한다.
이인은 단순한 선과 형태 속에 여성의 굴곡과 생명력을 담아내며, 구조적이면서도 유기적인 아름다움을 제시한다.
하태임은 색과 색 사이의 만남, 반복과 틈의 리듬을 통해 기억과 감정의 궤적을 형상화하며 회화적 경험의 확장을 시도한다.
허명욱은 매일 아침 자신만의 감정으로 배합한 옻칠 색을 통해, 깊고 맑은 울림을 지닌 색의 언어를 만들어낸다.

《통섭》은 이처럼 각기 다른 미감과 주제를 가진 작가들의 작품이 교차하고 응축되며, 관객에게 고유한 감각과 해석의 여지를 제공한다. 다양한 조형 언어가 만들어내는 교차의 지점에서, 동시대 예술이 제안하는 감각의 흐름을 경험하길 바란다.

The exhibition Convergence brings together diverse artistic languages and sensibilities, opening new horizons of meaning through the intersection of difference within a single curatorial space. This show explores how the heterogeneity and diversity inherent in art can harmonize and spark new forms of creativity. Featuring nine artists, each with a distinct trajectory in terms of material, subject matter, form, and sensory expression, Convergence offers a multifaceted portrait of the complexities of contemporary art.

Deokhan Kim uses lacquer as his primary medium, revealing traces of time and existence through a unique process of layering, repetition, and subsequent peeling away.

Sunwoo Kim engages the extinct dodo bird—unable to fly—as a metaphor to question human nature and potential in an era of uncertainty.

Soonchul Kim expresses condensed time through the labor-intensive act of sewing, capturing a sense of calm and introspection on his canvas.

Youngjae constructs emotional time-spaces in monochrome using hanji, graphite, and ink, evoking a dialogue between beings across past, present, and future.

Suntae Yoo navigates a forest of artistic imagination through playful imagery that fuses dreams, nature, classical art, and everyday objects.

Byungnak Yoon reinterprets realism through still-life paintings of apples—infused with personal narrative and nostalgia for home.

In Lee distills feminine resilience and vitality into simple lines and shapes, presenting a beauty that is both structural and organic.

Taeim Ha visualizes the traces of memory and emotion through the rhythm of repetition, gaps, and the interplay between colors, expanding the boundaries of painterly experience.

Myoungwook Heo creates a unique color language by blending lacquer tones each morning according to her emotions, resulting in deeply resonant and luminous surfaces.

Convergence presents a dynamic interplay of individual aesthetics and themes, offering audiences an open space for personal interpretation and sensory engagement. At the intersection of these distinct artistic languages, the exhibition invites viewers to experience the evolving flow of perception and meaning in contemporary art.
