전속작가 박발륜, Gerd Kanz, Stefan Bircheneder와 함께 2024 아트부산에 참여하는 헤드비갤러리는 페어가 진행되기에 앞서 전속작가들의 작품들을 미리 만나볼 수 있는 프리뷰전을 2024년 4월 9일(화)부터 5월 4일(토)까지 개최한다.

박발륜은 조소를 전공하고 철을 이용하여 구상과 비구상을 넘나드는 설치작업을 이어갔으나 제한된 재료와 작품보관 문제로 인해 대학원 시절 비닐을 이용한 작업을 처음 시도하였습니다. 비닐로 만든 풍선 작품은 속이 비어있으면서도 꽉 찬 것이라는 흥미로운 개념으로 다가왔고 유학생활 느낀 타지와의 거리감과 작가 본인의 내면을 무언가로 채우고자 하는 욕망을 대변하는 모습을 보여주고 있습니다.


게하드 칸츠는 이번 전시로 아시아에서 처음으로 작품을 선보이며 끌과 망치를 이용한 그의 독특한 작업 방식으로 작품을 표현하고, 입체적인 비정형 드로잉과 겹겹이 스며든 안료의 밀도에 따라 결정되는 풍부한 색감을 특징으로 하고있다. 망치와 끌로 나무를 잘라내고 다시 붙여넣는 과감한 작업방식에서 나타나는 거친 요소들은 작품세계를 창조해내는 과정에서의 도전과 어려움을 시각적으로 나타낸다.


스테판 비르헤네더는 고전 회화 테크닉을 공부하고 교회의 복원화가로 일했던 이력을 바탕삼아 독일을 기반으로 활동하며 예술 작업을 펼치고 있다. 실제의 것으로 착각할 정도로 세밀하게 묘사하는 트롱프뢰유 기법을 바탕으로 현대의 산업현장을 그린 고전적인 대형 회화부터 캔버스로 3차원적인 오브제까지 만들어내는 그의 모든 작업은 실재하는 현실 같이 보이고 캐비닛을 완전히 열었을 때 보여지는 극사실주의 정물 묘사는 현실과 상상의 경계를 무너뜨린다.

‘아트부산 프리뷰’는 2024년 4월 9일(화)부터 5월 4일(토)까지 헤드비갤러리에서 만나볼 수 있다. 

Hedwig Gallery, which will participate in 2024 Art Busan with exclusive writers Balloon Park, Gerd Kanz and Stefan Birchender, will hold a preview exhibition from April 9 (Tue) to May 4 (Sat) 2024, where you can meet the works of exclusive artists in advance before the fair takes place.

Balloon Park majored in sculpture and continued installation work that crossed the concept and non-concept using iron, but due to limited materials and problems with storing his work, he first tried using vinyl when he was in graduate school. The balloon work made of vinyl has come as an interesting concept that it is empty but full, and it shows a sense of distance from other countries and a desire to fill the artist's inner world with something.

With this exhibition, Gerd Kanz will present his work for the first time in Asia, expressing his work in his unique way using chisels and hammers, and featuring rich colors that are determined by three-dimensional amorphous drawings and the density of pigment permeated in layers. The rough elements that appear in the bold way of cutting and pasting wood with hammers and chisels visually represent the challenges and difficulties in the process of creating the world of work.

Based on his history of studying classical painting techniques and working as a restorer of the church, Stefan Birgheneder is working in Germany and carrying out art work. Based on the Trongfroeille technique, which describes it in detail, everything from classical large-scale paintings depicting modern industrial sites to three-dimensional objects with canvases seems to be a real reality, and the hyperrealist still-life depiction shown when the cabinet is fully opened breaks down the boundaries between reality and imagination.

"Art Busan Preview" will be available from April 9th (Tue) to May 4th (Sat) 2024 at Hedwig Gallery.
