동시대 미술은 장르의 경계를 허물고, 표현 방식과 매체의 융합을 통해 다층적인 감각과 사유를 확장해 나가고 있다. 회화, 설치, 오브제 등 다양한 매체를 아우르는 이번 전시는 서로 다른 지점에서 예술적 탐구를 지속해 온 일곱 작가의 작업을 통해 과거와 미래, 익숙함과 새로움 사이의 의미 있는 연결을 시도한다.

김순철, 배수영, 최지윤, Zoey는 2019년 한 해 동안 헤드비갤러리의 전시를 통해 각각의 조형 언어와 주제를 전개해온 작가들이다. 이들의 작업은 당대 미술이 직면한 감각적, 철학적 문제의식에 응답하며 지속 가능한 해석의 다양한 관점을 마련해왔다. 2020년 새롭게 소개되는 강지연, 손정기, 이해나 작가는 고유한 시각과 매체적 실험과 조형적 감각을 통해 동시대 인간의 심리와 사회적 풍경, 존재의 밀도를 탐색한다. 그들의 작업은 현재성과 가능성의 경계를 탐색하며, 현대미술이 나아갈 방향에 대한 유의미한 제안을 포함하고 있다.

《잇다》는 과거와 현재, 그리고 앞으로 시간의 축 위에서 서로 다른 예술적 흐름을 연결하고, 과거의 탐색과 미래의 제안을 동시에 제시하는 자리다. 이전의 작업이 오늘에 어떤 방식으로 이어지는지를 가시화하고, 서로 다른 예술적 흐름과 감각의 연속성을 한 공간에 교차시킨다. 이어지는 예술의 시간과 감각의 연결을 통해 예술의 지속성과 확장 가능성을 제시한다.

“Link: Continuity and Possibility in Contemporary Art” explores the expanding boundaries of contemporary art, where the dissolution of genre lines and the convergence of media and methods create multilayered experiences of sensation and thought. Spanning painting, installation, and objects, this exhibition brings together the practices of seven artists to seek meaningful connections between past and future, the familiar and the new.

Kim Soonchul, Bae Sooyoung, Choi Jiyoon, and Zoey are artists who developed their own visual languages and thematic inquiries through exhibitions at Hedwig Gallery in 2019. Their works respond to the sensory and philosophical questions faced by contemporary art, offering diverse and sustainable perspectives of interpretation.

Kang Jiyeon, Sohn Jeongki, and Lee Haena, newly introduced in 2020, explore the psychology of the modern individual, social landscapes, and the density of existence through distinct visual sensibilities and media experimentation. Their practices navigate the boundary between present realities and future possibilities, offering meaningful proposals for the direction of contemporary art.

《Link》 serves as a platform where distinct artistic currents intersect across the axis of time—past, present, and future. It visualizes how past work carries into the present, creating a shared space where different flows and sensibilities of art meet. Through this continuity of artistic time and sensory connection, the exhibition proposes the sustainability and expansive potential of art.
