《Blooming!》은 새로운 가능성과 감각으로 현대미술의 흐름을 채워갈 신진 작가 5인의 세계를 소개하는 전시다. 이번 전시는 2021년 7월 헤드비갤러리 신인 작가 공모를 통해 선정된 강수정, 문희정, 송유정, 이동훈, 정은정 작가의 작업을 중심으로 기획되었으며, 각자의 고유한 시선으로 삶의 다층적인 면면을 직조하며 우리에게 위로와 질문, 호기심과 환기를 전한다.  

강수정 작가는 일상의 소소한 순간들을 감성적인 시선 색감으로 따스하게 담아낸다.춤, 사랑, 운동, 여행처럼 익숙하고 평범한 장면들이 작가의 손을 거쳐 공감과 위로의 장면으로 전환된다. 관람자를 작품 속 인물의 시선에 머물게 하는 구도는, 우리 모두의 이야기처럼 느껴지는 진정성을 부여한다. 감각적 색채와 서정적 분위기는 단순한 묘사를 넘어 삶에 대한 따뜻한 시선을 전달한다. 

문희정 작가는 모두 각자의 뜻을 위해 지구에 도착하고 살아간다는 사유에서부터 작업을 전개한다. 작가가 구축하는 환상적인 정원은 개인의 기억과 무의식의 편린들이 모여 만들어낸 풍경이다. 이는 단지 작가의 세계에 머물지 않고, 타자에게도 위로와 희망을 건네는 열린 세계로 확장된다. 자연과 인간, 동식물의 조화로운 공존은 작가의 시선을 통해 회복과 화해의 상징으로 그려진다. 

송유정 작가의 유년기와 상상의 세계를 기반으로 새로운 가능성과 자유의 서사를 펼친다. My Little Friend 시리즈에서는 어린아이와 펭귄의 탐험 이야기를 담는다. 펭귄과 아이가 함께 떠나는 모험 이야기는 호기심과 상상력, 그리고 순수함이 공존하는 풍경을 통해 존재의 근원적인 질문에 다가선다. 단순한 동화적 이미지 너머로 작가는 우리가 잊고 있던 세계에 대한 감수성을 회복하도록 이끈다. 

이동훈 작가는 현재 시점에서 느껴지는 이미지와 기억을 바탕으로, 과거와 미래를 관통하는 상상적 공간을 구축한다. 친숙한 사물인 자동차, 음식, 비행기, 유적지, 건물 등 오브제를 단순화된 형태로 풀어내며 자유와 희망에 대한 갈망과 이상이 나타난다. 유쾌하고 명랑한 색채와 유년적 감수성이 결합된 화면은 현실을 탈주하는 일종의 쉼표이자, 또 다른 가능성의 공간이다.  

정은정 작가는 현실의 고단함 속에서 쉴 틈 없는 삶을 살아가는 이들을 위한 위로의 장면을 그린다. 자연 속 동물과 인간이 공존하는 화면은 평화로운 안식처로 기능하며, 작가는 그 공간에 순수와 사랑, 휴식의 감각을 채운다. 삶의 본질적인 가치에 대해 다시금 사유하게 하는 작업은 작가가 제안하는 조용한 치유의 방식이다. 

《Blooming!》은 다섯 작가의 세계가 각자의 방식으로 피어나는 순간이다. 감각과 서사, 상상력과 회복의 언어를 담아낸 이들의 작품은 동시대를 살아가는 우리에게 또 다른 시작점이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.


《Blooming!》 is an exhibition that introduces the worlds of five emerging artists who will fill the flow of contemporary art with new possibilities and sensibilities. This exhibition is centered around the works of Kang Sujeong, Moon Heejung, Song Yoojung, Lee Donghoon, and Jung Eunjeong, who were selected through the 2021 July Hedwig Gallery open call for emerging artists. Each artist weaves the multi-layered aspects of life through their unique perspectives, delivering comfort and questions, curiosity and a sense of renewal.

Kang Sujeong captures the small moments of everyday life warmly through emotional perspectives and colors. Familiar and ordinary scenes such as dance, love, sports, and travel are transformed into scenes of empathy and comfort through the artist’s touch. The compositions, which place the viewer in the perspective of the figure within the work, impart a sense of authenticity that feels like everyone’s story. Her sensuous colors and lyrical atmosphere go beyond simple depictions to deliver a warm gaze on life.

Moon Heejung begins her work with the reflection that everyone arrives and lives on Earth for their own purpose. The fantastical garden she constructs is a landscape composed of fragments of personal memory and the unconscious. This world does not remain confined to the artist herself but expands into an open space that offers comfort and hope to others. Through her perspective, the harmonious coexistence of nature, humans, animals, and plants becomes a symbol of healing and reconciliation.

Song Yoojung unfolds narratives of new possibilities and freedom based on childhood and the world of imagination. In the My Little Friend series, she tells the story of an exploration between a child and a penguin. The adventure shared by the penguin and the child brings forth a landscape where curiosity, imagination, and innocence coexist, approaching fundamental questions of existence. Beyond fairy tale-like imagery, the artist guides us to restore our sensitivity toward a world we may have forgotten.

Lee Donghoon builds imaginary spaces that traverse the past and future, based on the images and memories felt in the present. Familiar objects such as cars, food, airplanes, ruins, and buildings are expressed in simplified forms, revealing desires and ideals for freedom and hope. The cheerful and bright colors combined with a childlike sensibility provide a kind of pause from reality, creating a space of alternate possibility.

Jung Eunjeong paints scenes of comfort for those living restless lives amid the hardships of reality. Her images of humans and animals coexisting in nature function as peaceful sanctuaries, filled with a sense of purity, love, and rest. These works invite us to reconsider the fundamental values of life, offering a quiet approach to healing as suggested by the artist.

《Blooming!》 is the moment when the worlds of five artists bloom in their own unique ways. Containing the languages of sensation and narrative, imagination and restoration, their works show us that they can be a new starting point for those of us living in this era.
